For years, I’ve mostly only shared my knowledge and insights with my direct colleagues, and the customers I worked for. After much prodding, I thought it time for me to branch out and start sharing with others. This is hopefully the first of what will be many posts covering technology topics of every sort, but mostly related to security, active directory, Azure, identity management, and automating things with PowerShell
Who am I? My name is Chris Whitfield, and I am currently working for a company called Avanade for about 8 years now. My work has largely centered on security, and securing Microsoft infrastructures, both on premise and in the cloud (Azure/O365), but I’ve been working with Microsoft and related technologies for more than two decades. I have a passion for architecting unique technology solutions, and automating all the things…mostly with PowerShell, but not exclusively. I’m a huge fan of efficient problem resolution that doesn’t sacrifice manageability or security.
While I’ll be sharing a lot of practical items on this blog, from time to time I also plan to share opinion type pieces. For the record, I’d like to state that all opinions are my own, and do not necessarily reflect those of my company, vendors, customers, or anyone else. On the off chance that ever changes, rest assured I’ll let you know.
I always welcome feedback, as I’m well aware I don’t know everything (at least, not yet). My only ask is that you keep the comments constructive. Finally, while this is a personal blog, and I love sharing and helping others whenever I can, please do also keep in mind I have a day job too, so may not always be able to respond as quickly as I’d like.
